The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform advanced journey level duties and may train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and/or serve as a project leader as assigned. Incumbents may function as a unit leader to include directing the activities of a branch IT support unit, overseeing projects of limited scope, and coordinating activities with other work groups.
Three positions will be filled with qualified candidates generated from this list. The positions will all be located in the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, Central Office, Carson City, Nevada.
Position 1. This position will primarily be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining portlets, using WebSphere Portal Developer, JSP tag libraries, and portlet to portlet communication. The incumbent will, from a System Requirements Document (SRD), design, develop, and unit test portlets to ensure they meet the requirements as stated in the SRD.
Position 2. This position will primarily be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electronic Forms, using Lotus Forms Developer. The incumbent will, from a Sytems Requirements Document (SRD), design, develop, and unit test forms to ensure they meet requirements as stated in the SRD.
Position 3. This position will primarily be responsible for using WebSphere adapters to supply connectivity to back-end Enterprise Information Systems (EIS). The incumbent will define business logic and processes based on Web Services - Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL), human tasks, business rules, and business state machines.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analyst and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
