The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Clinical Social Workers provide direct mental health services including individual, family and group therapy using standardized techniques that are evidence-based. Clients include adults with severe mental illness and , at Lake¿s Crossing Center, mentally disordered offenders. Duties include intake evaluations, assessing mental health status, using DSM IV criteria to develop diagnoses, developing individual treatment plans and providing treatment according to the plan. Positions participate in providing 24/7 crisis intervention services and work closely with other service provider systems in the community and the state.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers; OR persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.

Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
