The Position
Biologists conduct fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects and research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; develop and implement project proposals and work plans; prepare recommendations; and participate in public relations activities.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This is the entry level and progression to the next level can occur upon the incumbent meeting the minimum requirements and with the approval of the appointing authority.

Under the direction of the Regional Supervising Fisheries Biologist this position is responsible for implementing the Sport Fish Management work program for Lake Mead in Clark County including fisheries management and field monitoring/survey activities; project reporting; coordination with cooperators including local, state and federal agencies; providing input on actions affecting aquatic habitats and species; assistance to agency marketing and public information efforts; representing the agency on various committees and working groups; and implementing recovery and conservation actions for the razorback sucker and other protected aquatic species in Lake Mead.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in biology, wildlife management or closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in conducting research studies; data collection, analysis and interpretation; and development and implementation of project proposals for fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects.
