APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $24,888.96 to  $35,475.12  PAY GRADE: 20
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Park Aides perform routine custodial and general facility and equipment maintenance duties, assist visitors, collect fees and assist in the operation of a State park.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Park Aids (Weed Control) assist in noxious weed management to include application of herbicides, use of biological control techniques and re-seeding of affected areas. The position requires the operation of 4 wheel drive vehicles, ATVs and herbicide application equipment, seed drills and chainsaws. The position requires extended periods of physical labor outdoors in a variety of conditions. Park Aid (Weed Control) positions for the Carson Area are only located at: Washoe Lake State Park, Carson City, Nevada When applying for this recruitment, you will be asked to answer a "Pre-screening" question, that indicates your willingness to accept employment for any or all of the State parks listed above. Please check the "Carson, Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa" option located within the "Availability" tab found in the "Application Profile" and check "Washoe Lake State Park in Carson City" only.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    Please indicate your willingness to accept employment for the parks located in the Carson Region: 1) Dayton State Park in Dayton; 2) Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park in Incline Village; 3) Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa; 4) Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park in Minden; 5) Washoe Lake State Park in Carson City; 6) All of the above.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
