Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Located in the Administrative Services Division, responsible for planning, coordinating, administering and directing the Records Management Program for the Department of Transportation. Responsible for managing all manner of records, electronic files and archives and ensuring the requirements for records management, retention, destruction and public disclosure are met according to Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) Chapter 239 and the Federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Responsible for screening and approving all requests for information and validating the release or restriction of official state records (public records) and justifying why information may not be released under FOIA exemptions. Provides training to NDOT Districts and Division management and staff statewide in the development and improvement of records management programs specific to the needs and requirements of their offices; develops and updates written policies and procedures for records management; and is responsible for inspection and quality control of the entire NDOT records management system.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Position Criteria
The Department maintains a wide variety of public and non-public records, with operational requirements and federal funding mandates requiring experience where thorough knowledge was gained in Federal and State of Nevada requirements for records management, retention, destruction and public disclosure according to the Federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Nevada Revised Statutes.
Experience presenting adult formal training.
Experience writing policies and procedures to include legal boundaries and utilizing best business practices.
