The Position
Seasonal Firefighters assist in wildland and structural fire suppression, fire prevention and education, medical and hazardous materials emergencies, presuppression, equipment and facility maintenance, and forestry and fire law enforcement activities.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Applicants must pass a work capacity test at the arduous level consisting of a three(3) mile walk carrying a forty-five (45) pound pack in forty-five (45) minutes or less.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience which involved using various kinds of power and hand tools; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment is required.
    Applicants may be required to pass a through medical examination and physical agility test prior to appointment and for continuing employment.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, all positions in this series have been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this class must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
