APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $41,906.16 to  $61,950.96  PAY GRADE: 33
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Positions in this series manage, supervise and participate in wildland fire suppression; fire prevention and education; presuppression; equipment and facility maintenance; and forestry and fire law enforcement. Assist the Forestry Program Manager - Fire to ensure that the components of the divisions Wildland Fire Protection Program are managed and operated in an efficient, accurate and safe manner consistent with federal, State, and division regulations, policies and procedures.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is grant funded and subject to annual renewal. Position also works extensively with native seed (sagebrush, rabbitbrush, etc.) and applicants should not possess allergies to these, or similar species.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in forestry or closely related natural resources field and one year of professional natural resource experience in areas such as forest health, forest insect and disease identification and treatment, and vegetation management at a level comparable to Forester I, Nursery Specialist I or Conservation Crew Supervisor III, or one year of firefighting experience at a level comparable to Firefighter II in Nevada State service; OR one year of experience as a Forester I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    A thorough medical examination and physical agility test is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
