APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $61,950.96 to  $93,187.44  PAY GRADE: 42
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in forest, range or resource management or closely related field and five years of increasingly responsible and varied program management experience involving resource management and fire suppression, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity; OR one year as a Forestry Regional Manager in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
The Examination
If there are five or fewer qualified applicants, the exam will consist of an application evaluation. (This statement does not apply for Until Recruitment Needs are Satisfied (URS) announcements).
Exam Type: Training and Experience Evaluation

The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. Your score will be based on the information provided in your application and your responses to the questions asked below. If there are several parts to a question, answer each part separately. Along with each answer, identify the position(s) and/or training (as described in your application) where you gained the background asked for in the question. Absence of experience/training asked for in a question is not necessarily disqualifying. Failure to answer the questions will result in a score based solely on the application.

2) Describe your experience with Federal laws related to: 1) forest health, 2) environmental assessments, 3) resource planning
3) Describe your experience with federal grant applications and administration.
4) Describe your experience administrating programs related to the following: 1) conservation, 2) propagation, 3) protection of forest, 4) range watershed
5) Describe your experience with report preparation.
6) Describe your experience with supervision of others.
