FISH HATCHERY TECHNICIAN I - Yerington - Mason Valley
APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $32,677.20 to  $47,606.40  PAY GRADE: 27
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Fish Hatchery Technicians care for fish and adjust feed levels; keep accurate feed and population records; maintain and clean troughs, tanks, ponds, raceways, traps, holding pens and launders; maintain screens, water sources and aeration devices.
Incumbent is required to reside in Department housing at the Mason Valley Hatchery provided by the Department of Wildlife. A deduction for the current rent of $40 is taken from the employee's paycheck every two weeks
This position is being recruited at both the Fish Hatchery Technician 1 and 2 levels. Position may be filled at either level. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the level that best matches their education and experience.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience in building trades and maintenance of equipment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Per NRS 483.926 incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada commercial driver's license and, per FMCSR 383.93 and 383.95, maintain a current tanker endorsement and air brake certification.
Special Requirements
    Incumbent is required to respond to emergency situations which may occur during non-working hours.
Skills Required
    Incumbent is required to live on site in Department provided housing.
