Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Fish Hatchery Supervisors manage the operations and maintenance of an assigned hatchery or fish rearing station, and plan, budget and perform maintenance activities in order to provide for an efficient operation and preserve wildlife resources.
Position manages the operations and maintenance of a cold water fish hatchery; supervises a four person crew; develops work schedules; participates in the development of a stocking plan; implements stocking plan; manages station brood stock program; responsible for station fish health monitoring and treatment; conducts station operations consistent with agency and state purchasing and contracting policy and procedures; and is responsible for station security and public affairs.
This position is located in a remote area in Ruby Valley on the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, approximately 60 miles south of Elko on a two-lane road, the last 10 miles is a county maintained dirt road.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of journey level experience in fish hatchery work that included caring for fish, fish eggs and transplanting fish, one year of which involved overseeing the operation of a fish rearing station; OR one year of experience working as a Fish Hatchery Supervisor I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement and air brake certification.
Additional Position Criteria
Incumbent must live in Department housing and is required to respond to emergency situations that may occur during non-working hours.
This position is located in an extremely remote area approximately 60 miles south of Elko.
