APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $41,906.16 to  $61,950.96  PAY GRADE: 33
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Biologists conduct fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects and research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; develop and implement project proposals and work plans; prepare recommendations; and participate in public relations activities.
Duties emphasize implementation of the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout (LCT) Species Management Plan for Quinn River/Black Rock Basins and North Fork Little Humboldt River Sub-basin; LCT recovery and implementation of the planning process to mechanically and chemically remove competing and hybridizing salmonids from designated drainages; enrollment of participants under the Safe Harbor Agreement. Position is lead for Northwest Distinct Population Segment multi-agency Recovery Implementation Team and provides input to land use planning processes relative to LCT recovery issues; prepares and implements work programs; prepares reports and maintain records; evaluate programs and projects; develops and implements a budget; provides information; and supervises work crews and seasonal employees.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in biology, wildlife management or closely related field and one year of professional wildlife management experience such as conducting research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; development and implementation of project proposals for fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects; OR one year of experience as a Biologist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills Required
    Moderate Travel - up to 25% of the time - is required.
