APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $32,677.20 to  $47,606.40  PAY GRADE: 27
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Wildlife Area Technicians may be assigned to work at a wildlife management area, on a water development crew or as a regional utility person. Typical duties involve the maintenance of wildlife habitat by operating light and heavy equipment, controlling water levels in wetland areas, managing vegetation and related activities intended to develop and enhance an environment which will support the State's wildlife species.
This recruitment is open at the Wildlife Area Technician 1 and Wildlife Area Technician 2 levels. The position may be filled at either level. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the level that best suits their education and experience level.
Position organizes materials and uses equipment necessary to construct and maintain water catchments - "guzzlers"; ensures equipment is maintained and administers repairs when necessary; prepares administrative documents.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience in maintenance, farming or construction work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada commercial driver's license.
    Education above the high school level in wildlife management, biology or closely related field may be substituted for the qualifying experience.
