APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $32,677.20 to  $47,606.40  PAY GRADE: 27
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
This position is a Transfer/Promotional opportunity for current State of Nevada employees only. This position is with the Behavior Analysis division of the Psychology Department at the University of Nevada, Reno. Applicants must indicate availability for Reno, NV. This position will provide administrative support to the Director of Behavioral Analysis. The incumbent will provide information and assistance in the development of the budget section of grant proposals. Incumbent will review proposals for completeness, accuracy and conformance to requirements. This position will also be the sole support person for the Satellite Master's Programs and the Director of these programs. The incumbent will review applications to the programs and make initial determination as to the applicants' eligibility. Incumbent will manage the SMP's budgets, monitor grant budgets and will assist in the development of grant proposals. Position will invoice program clients and receive and process payments. Position functions as the first point of contact for the division, answering calls and greeting visitors and program participants. It will be responsible for scheduling, organizing and attending various divisional meetings, handling all logistics and taking meeting minutes for later transcription and distribution. Make travel arrangements and prepare/review and submit the paperwork.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Requires 3 years of experience providing administrative support such as reviewing request for services or programs for eligibility; complex filing and data management; budget maintenance; preparing correspondence; and making travel arrangements.
    Requires experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    Experience in web design and maintenance highly desirable.
