The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Park Ranger Technicians perform grounds and facility maintenance, custodial duties, fee collection, report writing, visitor services, and assist in the operation and maintenance of a State park.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Seasonal Park Ranger Technician I positions for the Panaca/Pioche Region are located at:
Beaver Dam State Park-Caliente, Nevada
Kershaw Ryan State Park-Caliente, Nevada
Elgin School House-Elgin/Caliente, Nevada
Cathedral Gorge State Park-Panaca, Nevada
Echo Canyon State Park-Pioche/Ursine, Nevada and
Spring Valley State Park-Pioche/Ursine, Nevada.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of park experience including providing information and assistance to the public; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
