The Position
Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Personnel Analyst 2 in Carson City or Reno, depending on the location of the selected candidate. This recruitment may be used to fill current or future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Human Resources (HR). The selected incumbent must travel twice a week between the Reno and Carson City offices. The Personnel Analyst 2 provides oversight of Human Resource functions under general direction from the Personnel Officer 3. This position will supervise employees.
This role will also provide consultation to all levels of management and employees to respond to and resolve diverse human resources issues including employee relation concerns; advise on federal and state regulations, policies, and procedures; participate in grievance resolution and a variety of corrective actions, including disciplinary actions and conducting administrative investigations; advise on employment benefits, rights, and protections including workers compensation, FMLA, ADA, Cat leave, etc. Develops agency HR protocols and procedures and reviews and advises on classification and compensation issues. Manages recruitment and retention strategy efforts. Completes regular and requested reports using Microsoft Excel, Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Word. Special Projects and other duties will be assigned based on department needs. ADSD fosters a positive, inclusive, and diverse work environment that values innovation, teamwork, and collaboration. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
This position has a 50% travel requirement.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
