Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for an IT Professional 2 in Las Vegas. The incumbent will lead a team of IT field technicians who are responsible for managing and maintaining the DCFS Infrastructure for the Division per State policies and procedures. The incumbent shall lead and oversee others who install, configure and repair workstations/server/network hardware and software on a LAN, troubleshoot hardware and software problems both on-site and at remote locations, engage other team members or agencies for issue identification and remediation, and make recommendations in relation to identified needs. The DCFS Infrastructure also includes other LAN connected devices and services such as Video Teleconferencing, Video Camera systems, Mobile Device Management, Security Scanning services, and other software administration consoles. The incumbent is responsible for managing all Infrastructure services to include identifying hardware and software that needs to be upgraded, refreshed or replaced and assists with budget planning for project and resource needs. The incumbent will be the focal point for IT related project needs, IT Technician management and training needs, customer escalations, vendor, project management or other agency coordination, purchase order or budget needs, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, maintenance, repair or service restoration needs, and equipment disposal related to DCFS Infrastructure. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
