The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
The Division of Social Services is recruiting for a Management Analyst 4 (MA4) position for the Eligibility and Payments Team. This position will be located in Carson City or Las Vegas depending on the candidate chosen. The incumbent will serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the KinCare program which is presently in development. The MA4 will be responsible for internal control requirements including workflow and process improvements; federal/regulatory reporting requirements; developing various types of procedures to be implemented Division-wide for conducting eligibility determinations; payment processing and transaction reviews of unit document processing and reports; and conducting research and analysis to determine the level of accuracy and compliance with all State and Federal rules, laws, regulations, and policies and procedures. This position will directly supervise staff, is responsible for full oversight of the KinCare program, and will also provide fiscal and administrative support to programs within Eligibility and Payments, primarily TANF and cash-related programs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and six years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in State service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service who currently work in the Division of Social Services.
