The Position
Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Under direction, Personnel Analyst I's perform entry level professional personnel work as described in the series concept in one or more functional areas in Human Resource Management or a State agency.
The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection's Office of Human Resources in Carson City is seeking a Personnel Analyst 1 to manage payroll functions while overseeing special leave programs such as Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Family Leave, and Catastrophic Leave, along with recruitment, and assisting with personnel actions. This position also coordinates Americans with Disabilities Act accommodation requests and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with state and federal employment policies. The ideal candidate will be detail; oriented, highly organized, and committed to supporting employees and supervisors through accurate payroll administration, effective leave management, and responsive HR services. This position serves as an HR generalist and as such, requires professional judgment, high-level analytical skills and independent decision making to ensure compliance with state and federal policies while supporting the agency's workforce. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
