Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Under general direction, Speech Pathologists provide specialized therapeutic services involving the measurement, testing, identification, diagnosis, prediction, treatment, case management, counseling, coaching and supporting of individuals with communication needs and disorders; deficiencies in sensory, perceptual, motor, cognitive and social skills necessary for communication; and sensorimotor dysfunctions of the mouth, pharynx and larynx.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting a Part-Time Speech Pathologist 2 in Carson City, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies in the following program: Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS). The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting eligibility evaluations and delivering children and family-centered speech, language and communication services to children under the age of three with disabilities and developmental delays. Services are provided in natural environments, including homes, childcare facilities, playgroups and other community settings throughout Carson City and surrounding rural areas. These intervention services are required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and provided on the child's Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP). To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Applicants must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association including completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Special Notes
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    Some positions require licensure as a speech pathologist by the Nevada Board of Examiners for Audiology and Speech Pathology at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
