The Position
Health Care Coordinators perform professional work related to Medicaid program operations and auditing providers to ensure compliance with program policies and regulations.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position serves as an underfill for the Health Care Coordinator II (HCC II) within the Division of Nevada Medicaid, Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Unit, located in the Las Vegas office. The incumbent may auto-progress to the HCC II level upon meeting the minimum qualifications. The incumbent will perform duties under the 1915(i) State Plan program, specifically supporting Adult Day Health Care, Day Habilitation, and Residential Habilitation services. Responsibilities include conducting needs-based eligibility assessments, developing person-centered plans of care, and determining prior authorizations for services. Additional duties include identifying community resources, following up on reports of serious occurrences, and ensuring compliance with program policies and federal regulations. This role involves significant field work, meeting with recipients and their families, and collaborating with service providers. Candidates should possess strong knowledge and professional proficiency to work independently with appropriate training. Travel is required up to 75% of the time. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure as a Social Worker or professional licensure or certification in a medical specialty applicable to the assignment.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
