The Position
Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
The Department of Business and Industry(B&I) is recruiting to fill a Program Officer 2 position within the Director's Office of Business Finance and Planning (OBFP) in Las Vegas. The incumbent will administer B&I's annual Nevada Small Business Resource Fair and related activities; research, develop, recommend, and implement long-term planning; oversee the collection, maintenance, and organization of required program records and documentation; serve as the technical expert for assigned programs to provide assistance to program participants and staff; assist with marketing and promotion of departmental programs, including publication of the B&I e-newsletter; research topics for, create, and distribute a weekly email marketing campaign; and assist with quarterly Small Business Roundtable meetings, including scheduling, maintaining distribution lists, and preparing and distributing minutes. The incumbent also serves as Chair of the B&I's Safety Committee in Las Vegas and will schedule and coordinate quarterly Safety Committee meetings, prepare meeting minutes, develop a safety-related email marketing campaign after each meeting, plan and execute two annual safety drills, and attend the annual Health & Safety Conference hosted by Risk Management.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other discipline related to the program assignment and one year of professional experience in planning, coordinating and administering a program which included interpretation of laws and regulations; development of program policy and procedures; development and implementation of program performance standards and objectives for providing services; and development and implementation of eligibility requirements; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Program Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint based background check as a condition of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
