The Position
Prison Industries Supervisors manage, plan, organize and supervise operation(s) of Prison Industries program(s) and ensure their profitable operation.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
Northern Nevada Correctional Center is now hiring for the role of Prison Industries Supervisor 2 at the Silver State Industries Ranch at Stewart Conservation Camp in Carson City, NV. The Prison Industries Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision, planning, and organizing of ranch operations. The incumbent will be supervising the performance of inmates in livestock management, irrigation, farming and harvesting. Other responsibilities include acquisition of equipment, establishing work safety and security procedures, maintaining inventory, planning and designing new products and services, and maintaining accounting records and reports as well as developing contracts.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or closely related field and two years of supervisory experience in a business environment producing manufactured goods or providing services including setting production/work schedules, recordkeeping, and ensuring the availability of required materials, supplies, equipment and tools; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
