The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for a Correctional Vocational Trainer at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock, NV. Incumbents supervise inmates in their assigned work areas to ensure the inmate provides adequate service in the subject matter in which they were instructed. Incumbents order stock, materials and equipment in order to maintain the functions of the respective work area. Incumbent must be willing to work at this location. Lovelock, NV is located approximately 90 miles north of Reno, Nevada on Interstate 80. Incumbent instructs offenders in the operation of a commercial laundry. All laundry for offenders population is processed through this department. Incumbent requires knowledge of commercial laundry equipment, processing large quantities of varying types of laundry as well as experience in management of inventory and distribution practices for bedding and clothing.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
One year of journey level experience in the field to be taught; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience in which the applicant demonstrates possession of the entry level knowledge, skills and abilities.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
