Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Budget Analysts prepare and implement budgets including the development of expenditure projections, narrative justification of programs, and detailed biennial spending plans; review and analyze budget requests and adjustments; and ensure compliance with budgetary directives, policies, regulations and limitations.
The Nevada Health Authority is recruiting for a Budget Analyst I position located in Carson City. This position reports to the Administrative Services Officer II and serves as an integral member of the fiscal team. The Budget Analyst I is responsible for performing fiscal review and providing final approval of payment vouchers, journal vouchers, and cash receipts. The incumbent will reconcile assigned bank accounts on a monthly basis, assist in the preparation and documentation of the agency's biennial budgets, and ensure compliance with State accounting policies and procedures.
The Budget Analyst I will also serve as a liaison between program staff and other State agencies, providing guidance and support on fiscal processes and requirements. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, economics, or closely related field and two years of professional budgeting, economic or management analysis and projection, accounting, staff analyst, or auditing experience which included the identification of organizational problems and solutions, making recommendations regarding solutions and writing reports; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Additional Position Criteria
This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
