APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $46,207.44 to  $67,296.24  PAY GRADE: 27
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment. 
Under general supervision, incumbents perform the more complex semiskilled level repair and maintenance work described in the series concept the preponderance of the time. Work situations encountered by incumbents at this level require more judgment and greater troubleshooting skills to diagnose malfunctions or adapt methods to accommodate unique requirements. This is the advanced journey level in the series.
The Nevada Department of Corrections is looking to fill a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 position at Ely State Prison in Ely, NV. Incumbents must be able to perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment. Will be performing basic carpentry work; patch roofs, remove walls, frame; install doors, building forms and pour concrete; build shelves, repair furniture, replace damaged floor tiles, install and repair locks. Perform basic interior and exterior painting work; basic electrical work; basic mechanical repairs and maintenance on pumps, valves, fans, and other mechanical equipment; basic equipment maintenance and repair work to maintain building and grounds equipment and vehicles in proper working order; basic welding and machining work. Position works Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, holidays off. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Two years of experience performing semi-skilled work in the relevant building and/or mechanical trades; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    Some positions require a valid Class A, B, or C driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
