The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Duties include complex troubleshooting and the support of all NDOT computing devices and peripherals, in a variety of physical and remote (VPN) office scenarios. Application support duties consist of installing, upgrading, and break/fix problems in Office 365 as well as 600 transportation-specific software applications. Other duties include endpoint preparations and deployment, monitoring and maintaining the security of the NDOT computing environment, completing work orders within established time frames, and assisting with the asset management of computers, peripheral devices, and printers. Prioritizing and resolving customer issues are an integral component and focus of this position. Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Azure and PowerShell preferred. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of experience as an IT Technician V in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
Working evenings, weekends and/or holidays is required.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
