The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Dental Assistants assist dentists in the general or specialized treatment of patients in routine, emergency, and clinical research procedures in areas of diagnostic, preventive, restorative, periodontal, endodontic, pedodontic, orthodontic, oral surgery, and prosthodontic dental care.

Under close supervision, incumbents receive training in performing duties described in the series concept. This is the trainee level in the series and incumbents may progress to the next level in the series upon meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with the recommendation of the appointing authority.
The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for a Dental Assistant 1 underfilling for a Dental Assistant 2 at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock, Nevada. This position will be working under the DONS and Dentist supervision. Candidate will be responsible for a wide range of tasks in the dental office, ranging from patient care to administrative duties to laboratory functions. Candidate must be flexible and will require a diverse set of skills; clerical, clinical, interpersonal and technological. Candidate must be organized, professional, and be able to perform as part of the dental team. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of general work and/or volunteer experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
