The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Department of Transportation, is actively seeking candidates for a Grants & Project Analyst I position for our Rail Program within Multi-Modal Program Development, located in Carson City, NV. The candidates should possess a foundational understanding of state or federal grant processes, project management, and fiscal analysis. As part of their professional development, successful candidates will receive mentorship and collaboration opportunities with team members and stakeholders across various departments. This includes working closely with program managers, financial analysts, to seek out and apply for rail transportation grants. The incumbent?s ability to communicate, provided proficient analyses to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment where information exchange and collective solution-building are emphasized and essential for success in this position. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
