The Position
Project Managers perform professional services in planning, coordinating, directing and managing the activities of construction projects and capital improvement programs; develop design concepts; determine cost estimates and budgets; negotiate reviews and modify contracts, agreements, architectural/engineering plans, specifications, and schedules as appropriate.
The Project Manager 1(PM1) oversees statewide military construction, improvement, and maintenance projects for the Department of the Military. This position manages the full project lifecycle, including capital improvements, sustainment, modernization, and restoration efforts. Key responsibilities include assessing facility conditions, developing design concepts, preparing cost estimates and budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within scope. The PM1 prepares and negotiates contracts, reviews plans and schedules, and leads meetings with agency and facility staff to establish project goals. They oversee inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with approved plans, specifications, federal standards, and related codes. Additional duties include preparing work programs, participating in the design process, drafting bid documents, managing permitting, and coordinating consultant RFPs, selections, and contracts. This role also administers construction from advertising through closeout, including bid solicitations, addenda, bid openings, contract drafting, billings, change orders, and submittals. The PM1 ensures high-quality construction practices by interpreting plans and specifications, addressing deficiencies, and enforcing corrective actions. The position also collaborates with installation and environmental staff to update and maintain the Army National Guard Long Range Construction Plan in PRIDE. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, business administration or related field and two years of experience involving the design, planning and coordination of construction projects; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    This position requires statewide travel.
    This position has a 25% travel requirement.
    This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires a valid Real ID at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
