The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Plumbers perform skilled plumbing work to maintain and repair plumbing systems, fixtures and equipment.
The Plumber I position with the Office of the Military, 152nd Civil Engineer Squadron at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport installation of the Air National Guard, is responsible for performing skilled plumbing work on both indoor and outdoor equipment and fixtures. Duties include repairs, new installations, and preventative maintenance to ensure proper function and reliability of base facilities. This position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and components, as well as servicing sewer and drain lines. Work may involve drinking fountains, water heaters, ice makers, toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, sand/oil/grease interceptors, fire hydrants, backflow preventers, and corrosion control systems. The scope of responsibilities covers approximately 25 facilities across the installation, requiring consistent attention to safety, efficiency, and operational standards. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Some positions require Backflow License and a Cross Connection Specialist License through American Water Works Association and may require certification from the local water authority at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
This position requires a valid Real ID at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
