APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $41,091.84 to  $59,257.44  PAY GRADE: 24
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists.

The Grounds Maintenance Worker 4 position with the National Guard Facilities Division located in Las Vegas. In addition to general lawn care and upkeep, the incumbent maintains the visual appearance of properties by pulling weeds, mulching around trees, mowing lawns, and preserving plant life. They will perform general maintenance duties such as removing snow, trimming hedges, mowing grass, aerating soil, and installing and maintenance of irrigation systems. The incumbent will also care for trees by pruning, applying treatments and shaping floral forms. Lastly, they will handle pesticides, inspect grounds and apply chemical treatments to kill weeds and pests. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Two years of experience performing grounds maintenance work using a variety of tools and techniques; OR one year of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    This position may require work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires a valid Real ID at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
