The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Social Services Chiefs manage the overall design, analysis, development and evaluation of social services programs.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a Social Services Chief 1 in Carson City, Las Vegas or Reno, depending on the selected candidate. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Office of Community Living- Planning Advocacy and Community (OCL-PAC). This position serves as the Planning Chief for the Division. The Chief is primarily responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of various strategic plans assigned to the Division, working closely with teams across the agency, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders. The Chief oversees various projects and services related to strategic planning and system change efforts. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing agency outreach efforts, coordination with community partners, and advocacy groups. The incumbent will manage agency grant applications submissions and implementation, as well as fiscal and programmatic data for a variety of programs and services under the Office of Community Living. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, health or social science, public or business administration or related field and three years of professional social services experience which included serving as a consultant to professional/supervisory program personnel; coordinating program activities with officials and representatives of other agencies; interpreting and applying complex federal regulations, technical journals, and legislative studies; writing program policies, procedures, and reports; and conducting research and preparing recommendations for management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Professional licensure or certification in a social or medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada which will be identified at the time of recruitment is required and must be maintained as a condition of continuing employment.
