APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $73,309.68 to  $109,640.88  PAY GRADE: 38

Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Tax Program Supervisors plan, organize, direct and administer tax and fee collection activities as well as tax compliance programs in an assigned agency; oversee taxpayer assistance and education activities performed by subordinate staff; and oversee revenue and taxpayer accounting functions.
The Department of Taxation is recruiting to fill a Tax Program Supervisor 3 position within the Compliance Division in the Las Vegas office. The incumbent is responsible for the collection of Sales, Use, Modified Business, and Excise Taxes and oversees taxpayer assistance, revenue functions, and education activities performed by subordinate staff. The incumbent is also involved in all Revenue Section hearings regarding revocation of licenses, revenue assessments, responsible person determinations, successor liability, bankruptcies, offer in compromise, and payment plans.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, economics, business, or related field and three years of professional tax or revenue collection, examination or administration experience requiring the interpretation and application of laws and regulations in the review of financial documents for legal compliance, two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Tax Program Supervisor II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A valid drivers license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
