The Position
Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.
The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA), Division of Animal Industry is seeking to fill an Auditor 3 position in the Sparks office. The incumbent will supervise auditors for the dairy program within the division. The incumbent will assign compliance audit inventories; review and approve audit planning and preauthorization; review and approve completed audits and assignments; provide review guidance and corrective actions; process and post finalized assignments; and conduct compliance audits as needed. The incumbent will oversee audit services for Las Vegas and Sparks offices. Supervisory duties can include preparing evaluations and disciplinary actions; approving leave requests and timesheets; providing training; assisting with interviewing and hiring; and updating and preparing statistical reports. The incumbent will review and approve all dairy program coupon and promotion requests; calculate milk pricing for Southern Nevada; calculate remittance and late fees due and create billings for licensees; work with various dairy companies and individuals in obtaining compliance with laws and regulations; respond to public inquiries and licensing requests; and respond to complaints and requests for investigations.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of professional level auditing or accounting experience involving analyzing financial information and making recommendations based upon that analysis; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as an Auditor II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
