The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Under general direction, incumbents perform advanced journey level duties and may train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and/or serve as a project leader as assigned. Incumbents may function as a unit leader to include directing the activities of a branch IT support unit, overseeing projects of limited scope, and coordinating activities with other work groups. This is a supervisory level for Computer Operations and the journey level for Information Security positions.
This position is located in Las Vegas and supports technology components deployed by Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices, Information Technology (IT) devices, and Nevada Shared Radio System (NSRS) devices. This position is tasked with the responsibility to provide Support for critical communications impacting NDOT departments throughout District 1, including external agencies. The IT, ITS and NSRS enterprise network allows transmission of data, voice, and mobile communications as required by multi-platform users and dispatch centers and supporting public safety agency requiring 24/7 availability. This position serves as field engineering support for NSRS EDACS and new P25v2 system and Dispatch Center. Integrated Radio RF, Multi-Site controls, fiber optic and copper multiplexers, IP and digital communication systems. channel banks, telecommunications switches, ITS telemetry and alerting devices, remote weather monitoring equipment, IP and broad band wireless, and all associated network transport infrastructure in support of District and statewide equipment. The incumbent provides network support to assist multiple NDOT information system groups in the analysis, installation and repair of circuits and network hardware in rural geographical locations throughout the state. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
