The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Information Technology (IT) Managers are responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the IT activities, in one or more IT specialization areas, of the State, a department, or a division.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
The Office of the CIO (OCIO) is seeking an IT Manager 1 to work within the Client Services Unit located in Carson City. This position reports to the IT Manager 3 responsible for IT Service Management (ITSM). The incumbent is responsible for managing the OCIO IT Service Desk, a statewide customer-focused call center with a staff IT Professional's and IT Technicians. The Service Desk provides 24/7 technical support to State agencies, including the Governor's Office and the Department of Public Safety. The IT Manager 1 enforces ITIL-based processes, ensures compliance with service level agreements, and identifies opportunities to improve service quality and operational efficiency. The incumbent ensures consistent service delivery across all shifts, manages staffing schedules, supervises daily operations, manages personnel actions, conducts training, and monitors performance using ITSM tools and metrics.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and five years of progressively responsible professional IT experience which involved project management, quality assurance, and computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, or applications analysis and development. Two years of this experience must have been in a supervisory or project manager capacity; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
