APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $109,640.88 to  $166,288.32  PAY GRADE: 47
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Professional Engineer Administrators are responsible for management of an assigned district, function or division in the Department of Transportation.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located in Carson City in the Maintenance and Asset Management Division. The Chief Maintenance and Asset Management Engineer is responsible for the administration of the Maintenance and Asset Management Division. Responsibilities include: managing and supervising the maintenance and architecture programs, and staff; overseeing the development and implementation of statewide policy, maintenance asset management and architecture programs, and technical manuals associated within the area of responsibility; directing and monitoring decisions regarding the development of contracts and agreements; prepare the Department's Emergency Operations and Security plans and serve as the Department's Emergency Operations Coordinator, development and management of the Maintenance and Asset Management Division budget; and representing the division in meetings and committees with federal, state, and local units of government at both the local and national levels.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and five years progressively responsible professional engineering experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity; OR one year of experience as an Administrator I, P.E. in Nevada State service; OR two years of experience as a Manager I, P.E., or Manager II, P.E. in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Any person registered as a Professional Engineer in another state must become registered as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months following the date of appointment and as a continuing condition of employment.
Special Requirements
    Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
