APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $52,200.00 to  $76,608.72  PAY GRADE: 30
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Maintenance Repair Specialist 1 located at the Nevada Youth Training Center (NYTC) a 64-bed, staff-secure facility serving male and female youth located in Elko; ages of 12-18. Under general supervision, incumbent will perform: basic plumbing work in order to maintain, repair and modify plumbing systems and fixtures; install and repair valves and fixtures and open clogged drains; basic carpentry work to maintain, repair and modify facilities and fixtures; install and repair locks, make keys, install venetian blinds; construct special use features or objects; basic and interior painting work; basic electrical work; basic equipment maintenance and repair work; basic welding and machine work; constructing racks for storage; welding gates; repairing tools and equipment. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
    This position requires an applicant be at least 18 years of age upon application. If selected, proof of being at least 18 years of age will be required.
    This position is subject to standby and call back status.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
