The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION

in this geographical location.
DMV Services Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs including licensing drivers; issuing identification cards; registering and titling vehicles; issuing occupational business licenses; and processing reinstatements.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. OR Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This announcement will be used to fill a DMV Services Technician 4 with the Department of Motor Vehicles within the System Modernization section, located in the Sahara location in Las Vegas. This DMV Services Technician 4 works within a project team setting to implement new solutions and provide expertise in a DMV program area focused in the Department Transformation Effort (DTE).
The position conducts research in the program area and communicates information and resolutions to the project team. Subject matter may include vehicle registration, titling, license plates, driver's licensing, knowledge testing, occupational licensing, and/or other program areas within the Department.
Additional duties may include user support, application testing, training and other projects as assigned relating to the DTE.
As a key member of the project team, this Technician must demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and through collaboration must exemplify dedication to employee morale, support and development. This Technician will participate in scrum teams implementing new solutions for the DMV. The Technician will represent the business units and provide subject matter expertise on the scrum team and will assist other subject matter experts to ensure the work meets DMV needs.
Under the authority of NRS 239B.010.1(b), the DMV utilizes NRS 205.4605 - 205.810, NRS 293.504, NRS 293.5045, 6 CFR 37.45, 49 CFR 1572.103, and 49 CFR 384.228 as criteria to obtain a FBI fingerprint clearance check on current and prospective employees. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of varied and increasingly responsible experience related to registration/titling of motor vehicles or licensing motor vehicle operators, one year of which was equivalent to a DMV Services Technician III performing a variety of transactions involving standard driver's license and/or registration transactions, vehicle ownership transactions, issuance of duplicate driver's license and/or registration, and assisting new residents in obtaining driver's license/registration; OR one year of experience as a DMV Services Technician III in Nevada State service; OR two years of experience as a DMV Services Technician II in a relevant program-specific area.
Special Notes
In accordance with NRS 293.5045, the Department of Motor Vehicles, as a voter registration agency, shall not knowingly employ an individual in this class series who has been convicted of a felony involving theft and/or fraud.
The Department of Motor Vehicles is required to comply with 49 CFR 1572.103 which provides that an agency involved in the issuance of Real ID Driver's Licenses shall not knowingly employ a person if they have been convicted of any of the felonies listed under this regulation.
In accordance with 49 CFR 384.228, the Department of Motor Vehicles is required to conduct a national background check on any employee that administers Commercial Driver License (CDL) knowledge and/or skills testing, and the DMV shall not knowingly employ such a person if they have been convicted of a felony in the last 10 years or have been convicted of any fraudulent activities.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, some positions in this series have been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in these positions, must submit to pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
