The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION

Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This Public Service Intern position is an opportunity for students who are studying for the Orientation and Mobility field. Orientation and Mobility Instructors provide specialized training to blind and visually impaired clients in orientation, mobility and the use of low vision aids in clients' worksite, school, residence and other locations within the community; and counsel clients in achieving a positive self- image. Applicants must be enrolled degree program for rehabilitation of the blind, orientation and mobility, rehabilitation teaching or special education. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree related to the field of employment and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic graduate program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university.
Special Notes
Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation.
Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
