Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for Public Service Intern 2 positions- Part-Time, located within Early Childhood Mental Health Services, Day Treatment Services.
Early Childhood Mental Health Services Day Treatment Public Service Interns plan and implement group and individual activities for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed preschool-aged children (ages 3-6 years) within a therapeutic group setting. Activities must be developmentally appropriate and relevant to the children's treatment needs. Public Service Interns complete daily documentation of each child's progress towards treatment goals and objectives. They prepare reports for each child in the program. Public Service Interns at times may be the clinical lead in the Day Treatment setting.
Candidate must be enrolled in a current graduate program in the field of Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child and Family Studies, Counseling, or directly related field at an accredited college or university.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree related to the field of employment and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic graduate program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university. |

Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation.
|
|
Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service.
|
|
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
