The Position
Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health; Rural Clinics (RC) has an opening for a full time Psychiatric Casework I (underfill Psychiatric Caseworker II). This position can be located and/or provide services at any of our Rural Clinics locations. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics which are located in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery and follow Agency procedures and reimbursement guidelines. Rural Clinics provides ongoing training including release time to attend training not Agency-sponsored. This position assesses people's needs for any medical, educational, social, or other services which can include vocational, financial, transportation and housing; monitors consumer and provider progress on care plan goals; referring consumer to appropriate services according to the plan of
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and one year of experience assisting professionals in providing direct client care and implementing treatment and/or service/care coordination plans for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.
