The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Under the direction of the Director of the Office of Inclusive Education (OIE), the Education Programs Professional is responsible for implementing an integrated Individual with Disabilities Act (IDEA)/Special Education Local Education Agency (LEA) monitoring system. This position is responsible for managing effective monitoring strategies that are integrated across all components of the general supervision system. This includes on-site and off-site monitoring activities within Nevada's school districts. This position is also responsible for the oversight of sustaining compliance and improvement including the review and oversight of the corrective action process of all noncompliance by enforcing regulations, policies, and procedures. This position is part of the OIE Team and works together with all program staff to provide Professional Development/Technical Assistance, participate in various stakeholder meetings, including the Special Education Advisory Council, Special Education Directors Association, and other statewide inter-agency projects and councils. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Doctorate degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area, which included experience in at least one of the following areas related to the current vacancy: leading and managing a team that supports organizational goals; evaluating a program and/or program participants for compliance purposes or outcomes; developing and implementing a vision for desired outcomes; and/or communicating with diverse stakeholders across various platforms; OR Master's degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and two years of professional experience as described above.

Special Requirements
    This position requires working on evenings and weekends.

Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires a Nevada Special Education license or endorsement.
