Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
Health Program Manager II's supervise both supervisory and professional staff engaged in provision of health-related services and are responsible for long range, broad-based planning and policy development for a statewide program.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Office of State Epidemiology is recruiting for a Health Program Manager II in Reno or Las Vegas, NV. This position is responsible for supervising the Statewide Epidemiology and Rural Disease Investigation units and is responsible for providing high-level oversight in collaboration with the State Epidemiologist to develop statewide disease protocols for communicable, enteric, respiratory, sexually transmitted, and other diseases, along with managing day to day operations of both units. This position will also help develop a Syndromic Surveillance program statewide and help oversee and provide feedback on all data collection systems within the Office of State Epidemiology. This position works frequently with local health departments to assist in other epidemiological activities as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising the Rural Disease Investigator position and all members of the Statewide Epidemiology unit, serving as the subject matter expert on Nevada epidemiologic response to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in collaboration with the Statewide Epidemiologist, assisting local health authorities with investigations as needed, developing statewide protocols, data management within EpiTrax and RedCap, and other duties as assigned. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, two years of which included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the two years of experience, one year must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
