The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Under general direction of the Division Administrator of the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), the Deputy Division Administrator plans, organizes and develops the Statewide Highway Safety Plan (HSP), Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP), Highway Safety Communications Plan (HSCP) and other statewide highway safety programs and/or projects; provides direct oversight of the Division's sub-grant projects and programs as assigned.
Manages the daily operations, planning and administration of the State Highway Safety Office/Office of Traffic Safety (SHSO/OTS), including supervision of professional and administrative staff, directing work activities and reviewing staff assignments. Provides review and signature authority for documents, contracts, travel requests, billing claims, etc.
Provides management oversight to the fiscal, administrative, record keeping/data (FARS), and grant processes. Ensures fiscal and contract processes are operating and in compliance with State and Federal regulations. Assists the Administrator and staff with agency or program area strategic plan development and implementation. Special Projects and Duties as assigned.
Provides management oversight for subrecipient monitoring, training, and updates to grant processes and system.
Provides technical grant oversight and OTS policy guidance for grant management, implementation of federal requirements, compliance with federal and state reporting and execution of grant management policies. Oversees staff preparation for management. reviews, grant file, or voucher reviews and oversees follow-up on NHTSA recommendations or other agency assessments.
Oversees agency contract and MOU production to ensure they are prepared, signed and executed.
Monitor business practices to ensure functionality, efficiency and productivity to provide adequate support to the overall operations of the SHSO, including implementation of alternative strategies, as needed. Works with staff to update processes as needed.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration or closely related field and five years professional experience in developing, implementing, and managing programs and/or projects on a Statewide and/or federal level which included budgeting; and contract management and/or grant development and oversight experience, one year of which included supervisory responsibility over professional and administrative staff; OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration or closely related field and six years' experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
