The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform a variety of duties at the sub-journey level while receiving training for advancement to an entry-level professional class related to fiscal or business management functions in State government.
Incumbents receive training in performing the duties relevant to the class they are underfilling. This is the trainee level in the series and incumbents may progress to the next level in this series by meeting the minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance, and with the recommendation of the appointing authority.
This position is an under-fill for a Management Analyst II. The individual selected for this position will receive on-the-job training in duties related to fiscal management. This position is responsible for the direct oversight of the Nevada Highway Patrol's daily fiscal functions, and it reports directly to the ASO 2. The job duties include, but are not limited to, developing and maintaining declining balances and reconciliation spreadsheets, preparing projections, reviewing and approving purchase requests, providing appropriate budget coding, applying Pend 4 approvals to vouchers, encumbering expenditures on the declining balance spreadsheets, monitoring revenues and expenditures, and preparing work programs. Additionally, this position supervises an Accounting Assistant 3 and indirectly supervises three Accounting Assistant 2s and one Accounting Assistant 1. The areas of day-to-day oversight include travel, seizures and forfeitures, purchasing, stale claims, and accounts payable.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of administrative support experience in the field the applicant is to be trained; OR Current enrollment in an Associate's or Bachelor's program offered by an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field as part of the NSHE apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Individuals employed in this series will be required to meet the Special Requirements and understand the Informational Notes of the class series they are to be trained in. These will be identified at the time of recruitment.
