The Position
Electricians perform skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located with Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) in Sparks NV. The Electrician II position will perform highly skilled electrical work to maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment to current electrical codes and acceptable practices. Implements documented preventive maintenance and schedules. Inspect, test, troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair breakers and transformers, emergency generators, fire alarm systems, electric motors, and lighting maintenance. Install or remove and reinstall wiring, computer cables, power panels, conduit, circuit breakers, lighting, switches, and receptacles in accordance with code requirements. Study blueprints and schematics, calculate electrical load; design new circuits based on the load; gain access to components and systems; perform installation; update blueprints; inspect electrical system of structures for conformance with specifications and code requirements. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level electrician experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
