Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.
The Department of Taxation is recruiting to fill an Administrative Services Officer (ASO) 2 position within the Fiscal Services Section in Carson City. The Department has four offices supported by the Fiscal Section and the incumbent oversees and directs the workflow of payroll and purchasing operations. The Fiscal Section processes time sheets as pay clerk, processes special pays, tracks leave usage, and assists employees and contractors with payroll related questions and transactions. The incumbent will also act as the purchasing manager by monitoring fiscal transactions to ensure expenditures are in conformance with State and Department policies, regulations, and budgetary limits; direct all purchasing functions to ensure consistency in processing purchase orders, paying invoices, processing and paying travel requests and claims, and completing accounting documents; and act as the Travel and Procurement Cards Administrator for the Department to oversee issuance, usage, and auditing of the Corporate and Individual travel and procurement cards. The incumbent will also act as the Grant Manager for the Department and will oversee monthly, quarterly, and yearly grant reporting and progress/spend reports. This ASO will have one direct report and indirect supervision of four staff. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and four years of professional experience including two years of responsibility for major business operations/functions such as grants administration, contract and lease administration, purchasing and warehouse operations, human resources, Information Technology or facilities maintenance and construction; and two years of experience formulating, developing and analyzing program or agency budgets; and fiscal management; one year of which was equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
