Classes in this series serve as line department personnel function officers. Incumbents in this series plan, organize and administer a comprehensive personnel services program including employee relations, selection, classification coordination, position control, evaluation, training, payroll and other related areas. Personnel Officers supervise the work of other personnel staff.
This recruitment is to recruit for a Personnel Officer 1 underfilling for a Personnel Officer 2. The selected candidate for this position will manage the central Human Resource (HR) office located in Carson City, supervising programs and bureaus dedicated to public health and regulatory services of the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, while also actively participating as a member of the division's statewide HR team. The incumbent will function independently with minimal oversight in the daily operation of Human Resources, managing 7 full time HR and Payroll positions. General functions include, but not limited to, providing consult and assistance to managers and HR Analyst in areas of talent acquisition, performance management, progressive discipline, grievances, complaints, leave usage and accountability.

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in personnel management, business administration, public administration or related area and three years of progressively responsible professional personnel management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
