Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The NDOT IT Division is recruiting for an IT Technician IV Desktop Technician. Under guidance from the ITP4-Desktop Manager, you will provide tier 1 desktop, network, hardware, and software support. The ideal candidate should have creative problem-solving skills to assist users with system-related issues by troubleshooting, researching, and triaging problems. Graduation from high school or equivalent and five years of experience utilizing the fundamentals of typical computer systems, operating systems, applications, and peripherals, three years of which must have included IT work experience in a user support role; OR (for positions in the Network Operations & Support specialty ONLY) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of IT work experience in the upgrade or replacement of software and hardware components on networked workstations; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
